    FAQ

    Questions, answered.

    What is EyeGrid?

EyeGrid is an AI surveillance system that watches your existing cameras and video feeds, understands what happens, and tells you the moment it matters. Instead of recording footage nobody reviews, it checks every camera continuously and triggers the right response, such as a Slack message, an SMS, a webhook or a door lock, when one of your trackers fires.

Do I need new cameras to use EyeGrid?

No. EyeGrid connects to the cameras you already own over RTSP or ONVIF, or through your existing recorder. It works alongside camera brands such as Hikvision, Axis, Dahua and Hanwha, and video management systems such as Milestone and Genetec.

    What can EyeGrid detect?

EyeGrid can track unknown faces, known or watchlisted people, people entering a zone, loitering, vehicles, crowds forming and objects left behind. You can also describe your own tracker in plain language, for example “someone climbing the fence”, and limit any tracker to specific cameras, zones and times.

How does EyeGrid alert my team?

Every trigger can post to Slack or Microsoft Teams, send an SMS or email, call a webhook, sound an alarm or lock a door through access control. Each alert includes the video clip, the camera and the time of the event.

How quickly does EyeGrid respond to an event?

Within seconds. EyeGrid analyses every camera continuously; when a tracker fires, the AI verifies the event, attaches the clip and runs your chosen actions straight away.

Can I search past footage with EyeGrid?

Yes. The EyeGrid AI Companion lets you ask questions about your cameras by voice or chat, such as “Was anyone in the car park after midnight?”. It answers with the exact clip, when it happened and which camera saw it.

How does EyeGrid handle facial recognition and privacy?

Facial recognition in EyeGrid recognises staff and approved visitors, flags unknown faces in restricted areas and lets you search for a person across cameras. Privacy controls let you blur faces by default, set retention periods and keep an audit log of every lookup.

How long does it take to set up EyeGrid?

Most sites can be live in an afternoon. Connect your cameras, define trackers for what matters, and choose how EyeGrid should respond. No new cameras or hardware rip-and-replace is required.

    Who is EyeGrid for?

EyeGrid is built for organisations that already run cameras and need them to respond, including schools and campuses, enterprises with multiple sites, retailers, and city and government operators.
